Samsung building Located in Pasdaran street in Tehran is a commercial/office building. The main concept was to give each function its own personality in an identical building. In order to meet the design requirement (mass reduction of 80% for commercial to 50% for offices) two boxes was placed on each other, with a slight rotation towards the Pasdaran street the boxes show an interesting perspective in street level and also creates a public plaza in between, that an outdoor restaurant was added to it in the process. We thought that a well-made incidental form would likely be a less-disagreeable design. In the neighborhood of mostly nonidentical architecture with geometric shapes and usage of multi color materials, the building has a proper feeling of uniqueness with its simple materials (horizontal black lines and glass facade), attracts special attention, and has an appeal as a commercial building. Green vegetation added to the facade as an additional layer in contrast with black shaders.
