Construction for the Mashhad Mall, The biggest Mall in Mashhad, Iran has begun. The project is a mixed-use, 550,000 sq. meters development is designed by ATEC Consultants. We joined the design team in the middle of design process as an architect responsible for the façade designing. The mall will include retail spaces that are commercial, hotel and offices. Mashhad Mall reinforces the desire to create a holistic transformative design which benefits and supports the local community. Each characteristic of the project carefully addresses the surrounding context with a focus on introducing nature and sustainable value into the buildings and pedestrian spaces. Mashhad Mall has a multi-faceted façade that has different functions, in plan and elevation. this facade moderates the edges of the building in plan to increase sight lines into the pedestrian street drawing people in, unlike linear streets that fail to hold and capture the pedestrians’ interest.
