What if we could redesine the meaning of public spaces? This question was a key to our proposal for MCEO competition. we have focused on the public spaces of a governmental project. The usual physical program consist of a big amphitheater-which is used just for some annual special occasions-, an exhibition, a gallery and some other public programs which are usually hidden from the visitor’s eyes. We’ve wanted to reshape these functions and gave them their own characteristic. In this regards The Enginnering Organization Building is not just an office building thus a house with a large hallfor the engineers, let it be annual ceremonies or a place for interaction and discussion. With reducing the circulation areas of the offices to its minimum and by achieving the requested physical program areas we’ve separated the public spaces from the body of the building. To give the building its unique significance and to separate the defined functions we’ve placed the “Elevated Multi Function Hall” above the ground level with its own entrance access. This has also provided us a city plaza facing the main boulivard and a large service hall in the ground level for the visitors in regards of their documentation approval, etc. accessing from the secondary street. The result is an Hyper-modern function for a Hyper-modern notion.
